Job Overview
TechForcePros is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Advanced Workday Analyst. This role requires a deep understanding of the Workday platform, including hands-on experience with its technical architecture, modules, and security features. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in Workday or a similar HRIS system and demonstrate exceptional skills in solution design, system optimization, project management, integrations, and configuration.
As a Senior Advanced Workday Technical Consultant, you will play a critical role in driving the success of Workday implementations, optimizations, and integrations across various clients and industries. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of Workday to design and implement solutions that meet business needs, improve user experience, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for HR technology and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workday Expertise and Technology Proficiency
- Deep Workday Knowledge: Utilize a profound understanding of Workday’s HRIS functionality, technical architecture, and system behavior to optimize performance and enhance user experience. Leverage in-depth expertise in Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, Compensation, Talent Management, and Benefits Administration, to drive system enhancements and optimizations.
- Advanced Technical Proficiency: Apply advanced technical skills to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Workday modules and integrations. Stay current with the latest Workday updates, features, and best practices, ensuring our solutions are aligned with industry standards and business needs.
2. Solution Design and Strategic Implementation
- Client Engagement: Lead detailed client assessments to understand business requirements, identify pain points, and gather critical information. Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and document business needs to develop actionable project plans that address unique organizational challenges.
- Strategic Solution Development: Design robust, scalable solutions that align with business parameters such as practicality, culture, cost, timeline, and scope. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions that maximize the value of Workday implementations.
- Implementation Leadership: Serve as the Project Manager for Workday implementation projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to delivery. Manage project workstreams, deliverables, and timelines, ensuring successful project completion within budget and scope. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and technical SME throughout the implementation process.
3. System Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Proactive System Optimization: Continuously monitor and assess Workday system performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization. Implement best practices in infrastructure, workflows, and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual interventions, and improve overall system functionality.
- Innovation and Enhancement: Drive innovation by leveraging Workday’s capabilities to develop new functionalities and enhancements that support business objectives. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in HRIS, recommending and implementing solutions that align with organizational goals and priorities.
4. Configuration and Integration Management
- Hands-On Configuration: Act as the primary hands-on operator within the technical team, configuring and optimizing Workday modules to meet business needs. Quickly analyze and resolve system errors, exceptions, and performance issues, minimizing downtime and enhancing user experience.
- Integration Expertise: Lead integration efforts between Workday and other enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, and financial systems. Assess technical requirements, perform hands-on configuration, and conduct detailed field analysis to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability. Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide advanced integration support and drive successful outcomes.
5. Advanced Workforce Management
- Time and Attendance Configuration: Configure and maintain advanced timekeeping systems, scheduling tools, and time clocks within Workday. Manage leave management, vacation and sick accruals, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Develop and configure HR transactional events, system XML forms, and mobile applications to enhance workforce management capabilities.
- Compliance and Automation: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, implementing automation and workflows to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention. Monitor system performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain compliance and optimize efficiency.
6. Analytics, Reporting, and Data Management
- Data Integrity and Governance: Establish and maintain a comprehensive reports library within Workday, promoting data integrity and conducting frequent audits to ensure accuracy. Develop data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency across systems.
- Advanced Reporting and Analytics: Develop and deliver advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics using Workday’s reporting tools. Provide key stakeholders with timely and accurate information to support decision-making and strategic planning. Utilize advanced data analysis skills to identify trends, generate insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
7. Compensation, Learning, and Performance Management
- Compensation Planning and Management: Configure and manage all aspects of compensation within Workday, including base pay, bonuses, merit increases, and other compensation elements. Provide guidance and support for the design and implementation of compensation strategies that align with business objectives and promote fairness and equity.
- Learning and Development: Configure and maintain Workday Learning, ensuring alignment with organizational learning and development goals. Support the implementation of learning initiatives, including course creation, content management, and user engagement. Configure learning plans, calendars, and content to enhance employee development and performance.
- Performance Management: Configure and manage performance management processes within Workday, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives and promote a culture of continuous feedback and improvement.
8. General Ledger and Financial Systems Integration
- Financial Systems Expertise: Work closely with finance teams to configure and maintain the general ledger within Workday, ensuring accurate account mapping and integration with ERP and financial systems. Conduct regular audits and reviews of cost centers, direct/indirect labor, and other financial data to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
- Ad Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain ad hoc reports to support financial analysis and decision-making. Provide ongoing support to finance teams, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems. Utilize Workday’s financial reporting tools to create custom reports and perform complex data analysis.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced Workday certifications in relevant modules are highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Workday Technical Consultant or similar role, with a strong focus on HRIS, system configuration, integration, and project management. Proven experience in designing and implementing Workday solutions, with a deep understanding of its architecture, functionality, and best practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Absence Management, Time Tracking, Compensation, Talent Management, and Benefits Administration. Strong technical skills in system configuration, integration, and reporting, with a deep understanding of Workday’s security features, business processes, and reporting tools.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing complex Workday implementation projects, with a strong focus on stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights. Experience with data management, reporting, and analytics, with a focus on promoting data integrity and ensuring accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
